At 4T2D, we are proud to partner with Continuing ThrED, an organization whose mission is to empower individuals in the local sewing community through high-quality educational programs that foster skill development. Continuing ThrED offers a range of classes, including series like Sewing for Absolute Beginners and Introduction to Garment Sewing, as well as one-day workshops like Serger Basics and Hem Your Jeans. In addition, they collaborate with the Champlain Vally Office of Economic Opportunity (CVOEO) to provide Sewing for Success workforce training for New Americans, opening doors to meaningful employment opportunities.
This summer, we partnered with Continuing ThrED to support their Sustainable Sewing Internship which equips high school students with foundational skills in industrial sewing and production. As part of this program, interns created floor poufs made from 4T2D’s factory remnants, filled with clean, recycled textile waste to help divert materials from landfills. 4T2D proudly donates these eco-friendly poufs to local schools, libraries, and community centers. Additionally, they’re available for sale both online and in-store, with all proceeds going directly to support Continuing ThrED’s mission.
Supporting our community is at the heart of what we do. Continuing ThrED plays a vital role in nurturing curiosity and skill development among youth, shaping future generations with resilience and creativity. We’re committed to giving back to the organizations that inspire and support us all, ensuring they can continue to empower the next generation.
